Robert Duffer

Winner of the One Book, One Chicago flash fiction writing contest, Robert Duffer’s work has appeared in the Chicago Tribune, MAKE Magazine, the Chicago Reader, Curbside Splendor, Time Out Chicago, Monkeybicycle, Chicago Public Radio, Annalemma, New City, Flashquake, Knee-Jerk Magazine, Chicago Artists Resource, Word Riot, Pindledyboz, THE2NDHAND, Hypertext and other coffee-table favorites like Canadian Builders Quarterly. He edits a Sunday column on fatherhood, Experiments in Manhood, and is co-host and co-founder of the monthly reading series RUI: Reading Under the Influence.

 

Roger Reeves

Roger Reeves’ poems have appeared or are forthcoming in Poetry, Ploughshares, American Poetry Review, Boston Review, Tin House, Gulf Coast and the Indiana Review, among others. Kim Addonizio selected his poem “Kletic of Walt Whitman” for the Best New Poets 2009 anthology. He was awarded a Ruth Lilly Fellowship by the Poetry Foundation in 2008, two Bread Loaf Scholarships, an Alberta H. Walker Scholarship from the Provincetown Fine Arts Work Center and two Cave Canem Fellowships. He earned his MFA from the James A. Janna Sobel

Janna Sobel is an essayist, performer and storyteller, and she supports people of all ages in doing these things at the Second City Training Center, the University of Chicago Lab School and the Old Town School of Folk Music. She is the artistic director of Here’s the Story, which features live storytelling from some of Chicago’s most interesting artists, academics, activists and adventurers, and is associate director of Mudlark Theater in Evanston. Xu Xi

Xu Xi is the author of nine books of fiction and essays, most recently the story collection Access: Thirteen Tales (2011) and the novel Habit of a Foreign Sky (2010), shortlisted for the inaugural Man Asian Literary Prize. She is currently faculty chair of the MFA in Writing at Vermont College of Fine Arts and also founded and directs the first international, low-residency MFA in creative writing to focus on Asia at City University of Hong Kong, where she is the full-time writer-in-residence.
