Caroline Berger joined the Sunday Salon as cohost in 2002. She has a B.A., English literature and writing (1997, Hiram College); MFA, Creative Writing (2002, New School) is the assistant director of the Bachelor’s Program at the New School for General Studies, where she has also taught writing. She is the co-curator of the Sunday Salon, a monthly reading series in Brooklyn, Chicago and Nairobi, and co-editor of the online journal SalonZine. She has read at various venues around New York, Chicago and Ohio. Her writing has appeared in La Petite Zine, Pindeldyboz, Barrow Street, Vibrant Gray, Hiram, U.S.A. Essays from the Hill and Best of Vibrant Gray Chapbook, volume 1. She has been an Artist in Residence at The Artists’ Enclave at I-Park, a juror for the Scholastic Writing Awards, and an advisory board member for Girls Write Now, a nonprofit volunteer mentoring organization; she also serves as the coordinator for Girls Write Now Day, a local celebration of International Women’s Day.
