Margaret Ogola

Margaret Ogola has won the Commonwealth Best First Book in Africa and the Jomo Kenyatta Prize for Literature in 1995 for her first novel The River and the Source. She has since published two other novels, I Swear by Apollo and Place of Destiny. Margaret Ogola is a paediatrician and the medical director for The Cottolengo Centre for orphaned children.

    Honourable Margaret! You deserved the prize.I read the novel “The River and the source then as a setbook in high school in 2000-2001.In 2001 is when i sat for my KCSE.This is one book i read that i have never forgotten the whole picture.Especially when iam on my way to kisumu the amazing story travells with me all the way.
    Currently am a graduate student, and with the advent of the internet in the process of getting information for my literature i decided to type Margret Ogola on Google and i came across the message.I wish you well
