Billy Lombardo is the co-founder and artistic director of Polyphony H.S., a student-run national literary magazine for high school writers and editors. He is the author of “How to Hold a Woman,” (OV Books 2009) and “The Logic of a Rose: Chicago Stories.” His latest book, “The Man with Two Arms,” will be published by Overlook Press in February, 2010. His most recent fiction, The First Time You Are Punched, is published in the current issue of Triquarterly Magazine. Billy teaches in UCLA’s extension program and at the Latin School of Chicago.
Ru Freeman’s creative and political writing has appeared internationally. Her debut novel, A DISOBEDIENT GIRL is published in the US and Canada by Atria/Simon & Schuster by Viking in the UK, Australia and India, in translation in Italy, Israel, Taiwan, Brazil and the Netherlands and in audio by Tantor Media with award-winning narrator, Anne Flosnick.
Wesley Yang has written for the New York Times Book Review, Los Angeles Times Book Review, and New York Magazine. He is a contributing editor at Tablet Magazine, regular contributor to the Abu Dhabi National Review, and writes about contemporary culture for n+1. He lives in Clinton Hill.
Cheryl Burke is Brooklyn-based poet and writer. Her work appears in several print and online publications, including; Word Warriors: 35 Women Leaders in the Spoken Word Revolution (Seal Press), BLOOM and Reactions 5: New Poetry (Pen & Inc.). She has received a fellowship from the New York Foundation for the Arts and has been a resident Virginia Center for the Creative Arts.
