Hello!
It is so amazing to read this article! I was just searching for pictures from Oriovac in the web and saw the story, published on this website. I can put myself in the position of the writer because I know this nice village very well. I can see all the small houses, the main road- the fields, the animals in front me. I even have the smell of the nature and the farm houses, etc in my nose.
My grand-greatmother and my grandmother were born there. My family used to have the house until a couple of years ago. We've sold it to "our" neighbors. I still visit my friends, neighors, etc. there- not every year but I travel there sometimes. And as a child I used to stay there during the Easter Holidays until the Croatian War started in 1991. But I came even travelled there during the war because my mother used to arrange transports with required goods, etc- kind of aid-transports! ..
Greetings from Germany,

It's lovely written. Thank you for this story, Chaterine. To ne honest, it made me to cry. I am not from a Croatian village, but i can understand the urge to go back and visit the place of your parents. I hope my daughter will want to do the same one day, on her own.
